Description:

Daniel Turner is perfectly coifed, tanned, handsome, pearly white teeth (still all his own) and slightly overweight. He dresses in immaculate and expensive suits as one would expect from a United States Senator. He is smiling, gregarious and a smooth talker, a consummate politician. Everything about him exudes Southern charm and a deep concern for his fellow man. He does not fluster or stumble when questioned and is a PR man's dream in that he can adlib with great aplomb.

When one is born in the South and is white, one can grow up with certain . . . points of view, concerning race. Sometimes, one manages to rise above this 'rearing' and embrace the equality of the races. Sometimes it takes a common enemy to force one to manage this 'embracing'. Daniel Turner was born into a rather old fashion Southern household with all the trappings of the genteel Antebellum plantation. His family was rich on tobacco and his father curiously astute at predicting the whims of the Stock Market. Daniel had everything, including exposure to his father's early 20th Century views on race relations. It can't be much of a surprise that Daniel should grow up a typical Southern bigot. What does come as a surprise is his overcoming of that bigotry, at least towards his fellow homosapiens. Homesuperious was another matter, however.
Other than skin tone, there was actually little to distinguish one homosapien from another but when people started flying around and picking up tanks and bouncing bullets off their chests, that was a VERY different thing. When the first true supers began appearing in the late '50's and early '60's, Daniel followed their coming out with a great deal of trepidations. When one is used to having everything one desires and now one finds one's self inferior to another entire RACE, it becomes intolerable.
Daniel embraced the different races, to the outside world. He spoke up at rallies for equal rights, he marched along side Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968, then only eighteen. When he passed the Bar, he took up the cause of racial freedom and equality. When he ran for South Carolina State Senator, he did it against the a powerful Conservative candidate and won. During his second term, his party tapped him to run for a US senate seat left vacant by a moderately Liberal old man who died after eating a meal cooked in peanut oil. Daniel won. He was INSIDE the Belt Way. He was also the hand puppet of Genocide.
As time passed, Daniel's power in the Senate increased as his senority increased. His standing in Genocide also increased. Now, 64 years old, Daniel is the White King. Supreme leader of the White Genocide. Equal to the dreaded Black King and the powerful Red Queen. And the main source of money for the cause, usually acquired through government contracts.

The White King and the Black King of Genocide have many things in common, chief among them being their prejudices. The difference is where the Black King's prejudice encompasses not only mutants but anyone not what he classifies as 'white', the White King has a much narrower perspective, MUTANTS. Outside of that single personality trait, David Turner is a friendly, gregarious grandfatherly Southern gentleman. He remains highly visible in the fight for human equality and believes all people, regardless of skin color are just that, human. Mutants are no long human, they are something else.
