Description:
Laurie is a very beautiful redhead with soft hazel eyes and a winning smile. As mentioned, she is by far the most physically fit of the three friends and hence is the best at sports. Her trim athletic body is actually envied by Chrissy who has been subtly influencing Laurie to over eat in hopes of making her plump up. It hasn’t been working.
BACKGROUND
Laura Machado has always been a follower and since kindergarten, it has been Chrissy Parker she’s followed. A quiet and shy child she had no experience with a dominate personality like Chrissy but in the ten years they’ve been friends, Laurie never really been uncomfortable with the way things are.
When Chrissy’s power developed she explained to her two friends and promised not to use it on them. As she choose to exert this new found ability to actually make life easier for Laurie and Shay, neither had any reason to object to their used and Chrissy’s powers made sure they never would.
On a beautiful spring day, the robots came and changed everything. Though Laurie and her two friends survived, their parents did not. Unlike Chrissy, Laura was truly devastated by the lost but again Chrissy’s power eased her pain. Now she rarely thinks about her mom and dad and never talks about her life before she came to the valley.
The trio’s recent trip into the City that included Brit Stanton and the near rape of her younger classmate shocked Laurie to the point that she might at last be developing some small resistance to Chrissy’s powers. Her long history of obeying Chrissy’s every command may be so ingrained that it will take some time to free herself completely.
POWERS/TACTICS
Laurie's primary power is her shrinking but it has its limitations. So far she is only able to shrink down to the height of about a quarter inch and nothing in between. Even at pea size her mass does not change and that, added to her flight powers when small, allows her to slam into her opponents to hurt them, trip them or shove them out of the way. Of the three girls, Laurie is definately the strongest though her strength has not exceeded the capacity of a normal human. That may change in the future.
PERSONALITY/MOTIVATION
Laurie is a follower and Christie Parker is her leader. While she is capable of thinking on her own it is easier to let Christie do all the work. This has gotten her into trouble in the past . . . before their powers appeared. Christie knew what to do with their new skills, of course, and Laurie just went along with it. It was fun being able to get into anywhere she wanted and Chrissy only took a little money and stuff, just now and then. The mall was the best place. Laurie would pocket some things then shrink. Easy. Once or twice, they got caught but Laurie is a beautiful girl and can be very sweet. She managed to talk them out of the trouble on more than one occasion. Now she's pretty sure she has Ghost Archer and his family wrapped around her finger but she is in for a rude awakening.
CAMPAIGN USE
Laurie is a dupe that will some day figure out what Chrissy has been doing and at that point she might get violent.
