My Daughter

By Domma Leigh 10/02

God smiled on me from above

Created for me my child of love

With a kiss of his holy grace

In my arms my daughter he placed

So fragile, so small so tiny

Perfect angel, never whinny

Years have pasted since that day

But in my mind I still see her play

Oh the smiles and the giggles

How she laughed to my tickles

So far away does she live now

My  hope is some day a visit to be allowed

The love I feel for her never stopped

Even though life separated us in a final chop

If my words could reach her ears

I would want to dissolve all her fears

She was and is my heart and soul

She is what makes my love and life whole

My child, my daughter I miss you so

How I wish I could have been there to watch you grow

The would of’s, should of’s will never come to pass.

But least you now finally know I love you, at long last.
