But Why

By Domma Leigh

I looked into the deep blue sky.

It holds many secrets but tells no lie.

It makes my spirit leap and lets me fly.

No hurt, no sorrow, nothing to make me cry.

I looked in to the forest standing tall and strong.

Searching each space for a place to belong

The winds whispering a merry song.

Nothing to keep me, to stop me nothing wrong

I looked into the water still and clear.

It echo's lost sea tunes in my ear.

It beckons me within, embracing me near.

No pain, no hate nothing to make me shed a tear.

I looked into the mirror at the reflection of me.

My heart aching to the sky, to fly free

My limbs wishing to be strong like the tree

My life wanting to be open as the sea

I see how much I try

I feel the love pass me by

I close my eyes and cry

I accept this fate of mine BUT WHY?
