Description:
Shapeshift, duh ... Rachel is an attractive young woman with a lithe, taut body of an athlete, a result of years of martial arts training. Her hair color, nearly black with streaks of blue, a blue is natural though no one believes it. Her eyes are the a slightly darker than the blue in her hair. Normally she dresses in loose legged yoga pants and tanktop. 
BACKGROUND
Mari has been urged by both Nat Ryan and Rachel Thomas to try different affects with her shapeshifting. Wings just happened to be the first major success. After watching Ern Ts'aak soaring she began training the body to create wings. Much to Shannon Flores' dismay, this included Mari running her hands over Ern's bare back, feeling the movement and bone structure connecting his wings to his body. Mari, being Mari, oo'ed and ah'ed and moan once in a while while doing this. When Shannon began to glow a little, Rachel had to step in. Lucky for Mari, it only took the one time rubbing all over Ern. She might not have suvived either Shannon's fiery wrath or Rachel's beatdown.
She has also learned to alter specific parts of her body, like her eyes. This sudden Night Vision has become normal for her as has her visual acuity.

Rachel having experienced the death of a friend by drugs has joined the DEA to work with her father. Mari, of course, tagged along. The two young women always work as a team with Mari playing many parts as needed. Miller immediately squashed this idea but Nat Ryan, as Minutemen director, overruled him believing it was good to have them busy doing something for the good of others. He did insisted each wear their earwig which is extremely difficult to detect via detectors and very hard to spot by just looking in an ear. This keeps them is constant contact allowing to rapid help from the Minutemen if necessary.
POWERS/TACTICS
Mari is a shapeshifter who can take the form of anyone she wishes and duplicate them so completely that she is indistinguishable from the original. It does not, however, allow her to change anything she is touching or wearing necessitating an appropriate wardrobe to complete her duplication of an individual. This ability also allows her to alter her physical abilities to an amazing extent. She can, for example, increase her strength to a level that will allow her to lift up to 25 tons, or run at speeds of in excess of 90 MPH. Her body's ability to alter itself to a cellular level allows her to heal very quickly making her difficult to incapacitate and ensure any injuries, short of death, will be totally healed within a few minutes. Though she is not aware of it, she is nearly immortal for these reasons.
Under normal circumstances, Mari will leave her powers set toward the 'Charm' side making her as physically attractive as Mal but when she really wants to convince someone of something, she'll really turn up the Charm, increasing her PRE to what an only be described as 'godly' levels. At that point, it is hard for anyone to deny her. She does not use this ability on her teammates, especially Rachel, but then she really doesn't have to with her.
PERSONALITY/MOTIVATION
Mari has the attention span of a three year old at times. Her nearly perfect recall of everything she reads is astonding but she is quickly bored and so tends to know a little bit about many things. This gives her a few odd nuggets of specific studies and sciences. Her most recent interest is pyrotechnics but she has been forbidden to play around with fireworks. Naturally she didn't listen and the last 4th of July celebration resulted in a visit to the school by the San Diego fire department to extinguish a brush fire.
CAMPAIGN USE
The team and the government do not want Mari use any of her more obvious shapeshifting powers, preferring to withhold those of special situations. It is only recently that she has begun training as an infiltration specialist i.e. spy.
