| Description: | |||||
| Becca is slightly taller than average for her age and considerably heavier but this added weight has nothing to do with obesity rather it is muscle density. This does not make her in any way chunky or overly developed though she does have superior muscle definition. She is of mixed race with her mother's dark hair and eyes. Her skin tone is a blend making her somewhere between Belle's rich chocolate and Ave's South Seas tan. | |||||
| BACKGROUND | |||||
|
Father and daughter stood quietly at the foot of the grave that held wife and mother. Both looked worn down and, even in the new clothes purchased for this moment, thread bare. It had been a long, hard fight that lasted over three years, but as they know at the beginning, it was a lost cause. The daughter’s hand slipped into that of the father and it was a gentle squeeze by her that broke her remaining parent’s contemplation. Work and school became little more than a break between long silences over take-out or some frozen concoction touted as ‘just like home cooking. Nothing would ever be the same for either of them but it took many months for either to accept their new reality. The school year rolled by and summer came, a time in Chicago of heat and visits to the lake. The daughter broke the spell first when she heard of an armed robbery at a local bank. Her father worked security at a local bank. Panic set in and though she knew that the bank in the news had not been her father’s, she desperately need to see him to reassure herself. The robbery had taken place just after the bank had opened and the security guards there had both been gunned down without warning. It took the daughter over two hours and several bus transfers but she arrived just before lunch. By the time Becca Acosta walked into the lobby of the Wells Fargo bank where her father was a security guard, the near panic she’d felt growing since the morning’s news report hadn’t abaited. In fact, it was becoming overwhelming. When she spotted her father she had eyes only for him and did not register the trio of men that followed on her heels. It was he father’s reaction that gave her the moment she needed. Frank Acosta’s reaction to his daughter was instant and instinctual, a wide smile that instantly faded at the sight of the three behind her. His hand dropped to the 9 mm Sig at his hip and Becca reacted. Before the pistol had cleared the holster, the girl had fairly leapt to her father, her mind screaming that she was not going to lose him too. The two slugs that slammed into her back punched her forward into his chest. His left arm caught her and held her in place while the pistol in his right hand barked three times, one for each of the killers. He let her weight carry them to the floor and, dropping his weapon, he turned her over on her face to look at her back. “Dad!” the girl rolled away from him and sat up. Frank stared at his daughter, mouth hanging open. “Becca? Are you all right?” The girl started to say something then caught sight of the three men laid out just inside the door. “They were going to shoot you!” She scrambled forward into his arms. “I was so afraid I was going to lose you. Dad!” Though he had hugged her, his hands roamed her back and several times he lifted them to find them clean. “They shot you,” he managed to choak out. “Maybe they missed?” She suggested. The bank’s security cameras verified both slugs had struck the girl in the back. Both slugs were found on the floor, mashed flat by an impact with something solid. A man named Miller arrived at their home six hours later. The newspapers never got the girl’s name since she was a minor and Frank Acosta, the heroic security guard, disappeared from the Chicago area the next morning. |

Becca hasn't totally recovered from her mother's death from cancer just two years ago and at times can be spotted staring off into space as she tries to fight back the emotions. Now she is trying to cope with her own emotions by maintaining a positive attitude about the whole Minuteman Project. She will usually leave the scene if things start getting depressing. Right after her mother's death she decided that she would be a doctor and help to find a cure for cancer. Between now and then she is trying to gather as many good memories as she can because she knows there will be a lot of pain in her future as she deals with the tragedy of others.
