Character Name: Blur
Alternate Identities: Brittany Stanton, Brit, Rabbit
Player Name: NPC
|Hair Color:||Brown, lavender and light blue|
|Brit is a tiny girl, not even five foot tall and weighing just under one hundred pounds. Her hair is natuarally a deep brown but she keeps her bangs dyed purple. Her eyes can stift from a pure brown to brown with the yellow flecks of her father. Being so tiny she has a pixie quality and most people, female as well as male, find her very cute. There are times when this annoys her, usually when a guy she is attracted to makes a comment along that line. This is uaually only a thing when she's dressed in jeans and a tee ... when she slips into the tight costume she wears into battle ... well, she has more curves then expected and the cuteness factor slids across into sexy.|
Nat Ryan lay flat on his back in the sand staring up at the girl that squatted on his chest. A microsecond ago he had been quietly walking hand in hand with Wren Collins along a sparsely populated stretch of San Diego beach. Now ...
"Ya miss me?" the girl said with a grin.
It had been four years since he had last seen her, just before he and Wren had fled the Valley. She hadn't grown too much, maybe an inch or two but she'd filled out quite nicely from the flat-chested, boy-hipped little thing she'd been back then. Still not centerfold material, Brittany Stanton, had nevertheless become a very attractive young woman.
Her hair, once blonde, shoulder length, then black with a purple streak and bobbed, was now a stylish short cut of white, purple and black. To Nat's discomfort she was wearing a tight dark blue tank top and white super-tight bicycle shorts. Her current position was, needless to say, awkward from his point of view. When she leaned over and kissed him full on the lips, he thought Wren might toss her to Hawaii.
"Ahem," Wren said. "Hello, Brittany, would you mind ever so removing yourself from my boy-friend?"
Just like that, Brit was gone and Wren found herself wrapped up in a bear hug of miniscule proportions. Brit still wasn't very strong by the looks of it, but her velocity had more than made up for what she lacked in strength. She'd hit Nat like Ronnie Lott taking down a quarterback. When Brit had released her and stepped back, Wren looked down at him with an amused smile.
"You look silly laying there with your mouth open, Nathaniel," she admonished.
"Is there a girl-shaped dent in my chest?" He felt his body for damage.
Brit giggled and offered him a hand.
"I didn't feel a thing," she said, 'pulling' him to his feet.
"I feel like a bug after a bout with a windshield," he scrubbed the sand out of his hair. "Whatcha doin' in San Diego, Brit?"
"I'm gonna go to school!"
"How marvelous," Wren commented without her usual droll tone. She actually meant it.
"Daddy said I could go anywhere I wanted so I told him I wanted to come down here and go to UCLA he told me okay IF I lived down here near you I guess so you could watch over me and don't let me get in trouble so I thought I'd come by and see you of course I look on the beach first where else would you be sorry about knocking you down but I was just so happy to see you and I missed you since you and Wren left," she said in about two seconds.
Nat put his hand over her mouth and looked at Wren, grinning.
"Hasn't changed much has she?" he said.
Brittany pushed his hand away "What do you mean I haven't changed much?!"
"She sounds indignant, I believe," Wren said with the beginnings of a smile.
"Brit," Nat took her by the shoulders so she would look at him. "I can SEE you have changed a great deal. You've become a very ... ahem ... attractive young woman but God girl you can talk like the speed of light!"
Brittany checked in to the campus the next day. Nat and Wren drove up to LA with her. Like Wren, she was going to have a dorm room but also like Wren, she would probably never live there. Brit took a room in the same dorm as Wren and after a little wrangling by Nat, they dumped their respective roommates and took a room together.
Wren whispered suspiciously to Nat, "Just exactly what did you promise to get them to agree to the change?"
He grinned down at her.
"What else?" he said. "A weekend beach party invitation,"
Brittany's ears pricked up.
"Beach party?" she was practically a blur she vibrated so fast.
Wren touched her arm."Darling, there is a constant beach party two blocks from our house."
"And everyone is invited," Nat said.
"So he didn't really give them a thing," Wren added meaning the two ex-roommates.
"It is all a matter of perception," Nat followed.
"WHOA!" Brit held up both hands. "You guys are starting to creep me out. I thought Raven was the mind reader!"
"Um ... " Nat began.
"We are just attuned," Wren finished.
"Can we get back to San Diego?" Brittany said, looking excited.
"Well ... " Nat began.
This time Wren didn't finish his sentence but stared at him blankly.
"What did you do?" She said, giving his a look.
"The girls kinda need a ride down ... " he said sheepishly.
Wren rolled her eyes.
"What am I going to do with you," she sighed in exasperation. "You would help Jack the Ripper if he asked."
"He ever get his Eagle scout?" Brittany asked Wren.
"Any second now it will spontaneously appear on his chest," Wren assured her.
"That's why we love them though, huh?" Brit said. "Cause he IS a big Boyscout."
Wren smiled and gave a little sigh of defeat. "I supposed so." She stood on her tiptoes and kissed him lightly on the lips. "If I hear you say 'ass, grass or gas, nobody rides for free' I am going to hit you so hard ... "
Nat scowled at her. "You just ruined my best line!"
When they had graduated from high school Wren had surprised everyone, including Nat, by buying him a classic 'Woody' and the two girls oo'd and ahh'd over it for several minutes before Nat got them corralled and in back. When he started the car and "Surfin' Safari" by the Beach Boys came on, the three in the back broke down in peals of laughter. Even Wren chuckled. By the time they pulled up in front of Nat and Wren's Brit and the two girls were fast friends.
The Team sat around the Pit, talking quietly, each curious about Nat's sudden summons. Oddly, neither he nor Wren was present when Alicia and Slater arrived and seated themselves in their usual seat, Alicia on Slater's lap.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Nat's voice rolled out of the darkness. "May I present the newest member of our team ... !" There was a pause and he appeared out of the shadows, his arms back in a gesture of introduction. "Blur!"
The figure appeared instantly, a small girl that didn't look much more than fourteen or fifteen.
"Nathaniel, you missed your calling as a ringmaster," Wren Collins strode past the two and took her place in the Pit. "Drama queen," she muttered.
Zach shot to his feet and gave her a bear hug.
"ZACH," she wheezed. "I can't breathe!!"
He released her and grinned.
"Sorry," he said, backing up a step.
"How are you doing, Zach?" she said.
Nat stepped down into the Pit and Brit followed while Zach returned to his seat beside Fuji. The little Japanese girl gave him a scowl.
"In case you didn't get it," Nat said, pulling Brittany into the light. "This is Brittany, Brit."
Everyone nodded, waved or muttered a greeting then Nat went around the Pit, introducing each of the members. When he was done he looked down at them all and instantly they knew he'd just gone team leader on them.
"Blur is possibly the fastest person on the planet and I have invited her to join us."
No one said anything, nor did they disapprove from their body language but Zach jumped to his feet and whooped. The rest of the team rose en masse and took her hand or hugged her, general, just made her feel welcome. For the first time since she had left the Valley, Brittany relaxed, if just a little.
When Brittany Stanton came down to San Diego, she had no idea her friends Nat and Wren had formed a team or that they had been given considerable backing from a mysterious benefactor in the form of an extensive cavern system under Point Loma. Nat hadn't hesitated though in telling her all about it and insisted she join in. She agreed and the Legacy was passed to her.
NOTE: Brit, being from the Wild Hunt's dimension, has certain advantages ... like being able to call her dad, and with him, the entire Wild Hunt. This will never be used to solve the problems of Nat's dimension as a certain dragon will not allow it. If Brit is helpless and hopeless, she will be rescued within seconds by the time travelling, dimension hopping Ghost Archer, most likely accompanied by Daimon.
Brit is rarely still and even more rarely quiet. She loves to appear out of nowhere and vanish just as quickly. With her great speed she can do an amazing amount of things in a very short period of time. She can strip down any gadget, or snatch something from a hand at what seems to be the speed of light. Her main weakness is, she isn't very strong, physically. IF you can get a hold of her, she's all but helpless as she discovered once to her dismay. Her body heals so fast she can shrug off many attacks and those she does not, she heals in just a few minutes. She can run around a target, spinning them as she does, so fast their inner ear is affected to the point they are barely able to stand. Using small object she can pick up everywhere, she accellerates them to high speeds and releases them. Not a devastating attack but it works. If she uses something sharp in this manner, it can be deadly.
Brit has one huge disadvantage in that her physical strength makes her practically helpless if she is grabbed or entangled. Note the 'Restrainable' disadvantage on most of her powers.
|Before she came to join Legacy she was the constantly bullied for a numner of reasons, her small size, her skittishness and the fact that she is just a sweet young girl. Once she met Nat, for some reason, that all sort of stopped. It didn't take her long to understand the huge surfer had basically threatened everyone at the school with a very long swim back to shore if that didn't stop the bullying. When he left, it didn't take very long for everyone's favorite joke of 'scare the rabbit' returned. She finally told her father and Ghost Archer. Both went through the ceiling. Her father asked her what she wanted to do and without hesitation she told him she wanted to go join Wren and Nat in their world. It took some convincing but at last, with Archer's help, Brit became a resident of Nat's world and part of his extended family. She is quite comfortable living in the Legacy caves with Rachel, Vanilla, Meatball, and even Rocky.|
|Brit is a point of common contact between the two dimensions.|
