Author's Note:  Most of the herbs presented on this page are real.  The real life benefits are exaggrated for play purposes.  If an herb is listed as a poison, please believe that this is true.  Some effects are not available in real life herbs and for this I have added a few of my own design.  This is a preliminary list and any submissions or comments are welcome.

The base monetary unit is a silver piece (approx. $1 value).   Unless otherwise indicated the costs are in silver pieces. Prices are per dose.

 Nor-pok  An extremely rare plant that is an antidote to any known poison, 95%.  The leaves are ingested.  It is found in the desert and once picked it is susceptable to moisture, deteriorating rapidly in humid climates.

Healing Herbs

 Aloe  Perhaps one of the most common healing herbs of all, this plant's sap when applied to a cut or burn aides in healing and relieves pain.  It is found in heath/scrub/moors areas in cool temperate zones.  It is inexpensive.

 Arnica/Wolfsbane  This common plant relieves bruises and strains, 50% effective.  It also repells most forms of lycantrops.  The leaves are crushed and mixed with water to form a paste, the paste is applied topically.  It is found in mixed forests of temperate zones.  It is inexpensive.

 Bistort/Dragonwort  This common plant heals minor wounds, 40% effective.  The root is crushed to a paste and applied as a poltice.  It is found in the mixed forests of temperate zones. It is cheap.

 Blootwort  A rare plant that will stop all but the most critical bleeding, 80% effective.  Sap or pulp is applied to the wound.  It is found in semi-arid plains/grasslands.  It is pricey.

Broom/Scoparium This rare plant stops bleeding, 60% effective.  The leaves a steeped and the liquid is applied to the wound.  It is found in arid plains/grassland areas.

Furberry A common plant that relieves the effects of frostbite, 90% effective.  The tiny berries are crushed and the paste is applied to the effected area.  It is found in the mountains above the snow line.

Maco Fruit An unusual fruit that greatly speeds the healing of tissue damage (cuts etc.), 70% effective.  The tart flavored fruit, similar to a persimmon, is eaten and the effects are rapid.  It is found in mild zones and mixed forests.

Manth This very rare plant can perform near miracle cures on damaged organs, 75% effective.  The stalks are brewed and ingested.  It is found in the salt marshs of temperate climates.

Ulnak A very rare plant that will greatly speed the healing of broken bones, 75% effective.  The leaves are brewed as a tea and drunk.  It is found along the seashore/tidal basins of hot, humid crimates.

 This plant helps prevent colds and fevers, 65% effective.  The root is eaten raw and it tastes much like okra.  It is found on plains/grasslands of temperate zones.

 This plant relieves headaches, 60% effective.  The peel of the fruit is pulped and eaten, it tastes like a bitter orange.  It is found in semi-arid mixed forests.

 Archer Root  This plant is a potent sleep aide, 80 % effective.  The root is dried and powdered and may be mixed with any food or drink, it is tasteless.  It is found growing along fresh water courses in hot, humid climates.
Author's note: This is a real herb and I was amused by the name as well as the effect.

 Bitter Flower  A rare plant that causes a heady euphoria, it is mildly addictive, 80% effective.  The flower is brewed forming an aromatic tea.  It is found in the jungle or rain forest.

 Catnip  A common plant that is a mild stimulate, to the Maktir it's effects are extreme.  The leaf can be ingested as a tea or by itself.  It is found in moderate climes one any plains area.

 Skunk Bulb  A very common plant that will awaken anyone unconscious or a asleep nearly immediately, 90% effective.  The float bladder of this seaweed is popped under the nose to take effect.  It is found in the oceans of global temperate zones.

 Blood Root  This rare plant is a deadly poison that causes severe vomiting and death, 90% effective.  The root is introduced into food and tastes mildly of apples.  It is found in semi-arid wastelands.

 Hell Dust  This mushroom asphixiates the victim by rapidly filling the lungs with spores, it is fatal 50% of the time.  The mushroom is powdered and the dust is blown or thrown into the face of the victim.  It is found underground.

 Hemofak  This very rare plant causes the blood to clot in the body and will kill 90% of the time.  The juice of the berry is introduced into food or drink, it has a mild licorice taste.  It is found in semi-arid wastelands.

 Spider Venom  This substance causes the organs of the body to liquify and kills 80% of the time.  The venom must be extracted from a giant spider and ingested.  The spiders from which this poison is extracted are of a trapdoor type and are found in plains areas.
