Lynda has a beautiful, delicate face with large soft brown eyes. Her 'normal' hair color and eye color varies with her current mental state.
BACKGROUND
The silver nimbus of light blinded her after so much darkness. Out of the light came the knight, Holy and strong in the Glory of the Lord. With flashing blade, chains dropped away and the terror in her soul began to ebb. She was seven, an innocent child snatched from her home and pinned to the blood stained alter of the Cult called DEMON. As she lay on her back during those final seconds before He arrived, she saw into the Abyss, she saw the monsters that lurked, straining to escape into her world. Then the yawning maw of blackness and its writhing terrors slammed shut as if it were a great door and He was there.
The hard feel of armor did not bother her as the great knight lifted her from her bed of stone and looked into her eyes. He saw there exactly what this little girl had seen, the terror hidden all around them, the secret monsters. He knew that she now knew. Some monsters are real. Lynda Crighton was never again the innocent child.
He came to her often, in moments when she knew the lurking monsters were closing in and rescued her. He came at times when questions swirled in her head and helped her discover the answers. He came when she disappeared during a class field trip to a native American site and found her enthralled in a cave of supernatural power no living eyes had ever seen. He came just when she was about to give up at the hopelessness of it all. And he came to hold her hand and walk with her when she buried her parents, killed by the monsters, she knew, but put down on police reports as street violence.
In the moment Crusader, her knight, looked into her eyes, she knew he would forever be the only man in her heart. Though only seven, Lynda had found her soulmate. For Crusader, it began as a simple rescue of this little girl but something in him had changed. He seemed to know when she was in trouble, or hurt, or scared or just when she had a problem. He would come to her and help or comfort and when her parnts were killed, he was there and vowed to find the killers. She was eighteen and it seemed they had known each other all their lives.
He did find the killers on one of those black nights when the heavens are just so for sacrifices and the opening of gates between worlds. Upon the demons he brought down the terrible wrath of God and slew them. Upon the men, corrupted by Evil, he visited Justice and all found their way to the Hell they had so fanatically dedicated their lifes to bring to the world. Lynda's parents had provided in death what they had not been able to provide in life, wealth enough for her to live comfortably. She took the insurance and bought a small occult bookstore in Berkeley and enrolled in college. She was able to travel Europe for a summer, seeking the occult knowledge of the Old World. She took classes all over the world, each with the same subject, the occult. By twenty, she was becoming an expert.
The first demon came to her through a window, bypassing the 'magic' wards she had set up not knowing they were useless. It found her in bed, asleep and pounced, rending the blankets, sheets and the pillow Lynda had been hugging to her body as she lay on her back. The audiable scream of terror could have never reached the distant Valley of the Wild Hunt, but the psychic scream knifed through Crusader even at that great range. Before the demon could recover from its frustration at finding it had only killed a pillow, Crusader appeared in the beam of the Wild Hunt team's teleporter. Again Lynda was blinded by the light and saw nothing of the terrible rage and fear on Crusader's face. She did not see the sword slashing through the demon's skin but she heard the horrible death wail of a condemned soul.
Heedless of his befouled armor, Crusader fell to his knees beside the bed and drew back the shreaded bed covers, expecting to find Lynda's body savaged and bleeding out her life. There was only smooth bare skin, untouched by tooth or claw and, he knew, untouched by a man. The heat of battle, the waining of fear, the realization of how close she had come to being slaughtered, the closeness the two had shared for so many years combined and Arthur Blackwood, aka Crusader, knew he loved the frightened girl more then his own life.
To protect her he presented her with the 'Blinder of Demons', a mystical ring taken from the finger of a DEMON Morbane. At the time Crusader had secretly smiled at finding it as it proved that even the powerful and evil Morbanes did not trust a demon. He rests easier now, knowing she is almost impossible for demons to find.
