BACKGROUND HISTORY
Schwerkraftmädchen aka Gravity Girl aka Johanna Braun grew up with her great-grandfather in Europe. He was a Holocaust survivor, sent to the camps for being part of a group in Germany that aided the persecuted groups during the war. He told her the stories about how he and his fiancé were at the camps, how they gave him his number on his forearm and how his friends died. Her country was bathed in an unknown form of radiation when a meteor struck outside the city. Many young people like herself gained superpowers as a result. People started disappearing in her home country, signs that her great-grandfather recognized and out of fear for Johanna, left Germany for the United States. Johanna was self-absorbed, acting out in anger for leaving all her friends behind. She got involved with gang activity until he died and she was forced to live on the streets. She immediately regretted how she acted with her great-grandfather and that motivated her to not only try to do the right thing but she got her great-grandfather's number tattooed on her left forearm so he'd never be forgotten.
