Megan is a beautiful woman with a hint of the faery in her features. She is graceful in motion, with the complex gestures required to produce her magic seeming like an elegant finger dance. Though she has been in the United States for nearly all her life she still retains the Welsh accent of her mother.
Megan Pierce, a practitioner of sympathetic magic, was born thirty years ago, the child of the male heir to an impoverished English family and the first daughter of an old Welsh family. Her father died when she was three giving Megan's mother, Gwendolyn, the opportunity to emigrate to Maine to avoid the machinations of her late husband's family.
Gwen, seeking a focus in her life, discovered and joined a coven of witches operating in her rural New England village. The witchcraft of the coven was genuine, and although not Satanic in orientation, they were power-hungry, formidable, humorless and lethal.
Megan, growing up in this cheerless environment, existed in a near-constant state of rebellion in all things save her magical studies. In this, she excelled. Her real mystical talent was in the field of sympathetic magic, the practice that operates on the premise that an effect created on or with a small item can be duplicated in a larger item or area.
At age nineteen she rebelled against the coven. On the night she was to become a full member she refused, frightening her mother, now mistress of the coven, into attempting to kill her own daughter out of fear of Megan's growing magic. Megan escaped, fled to New York to seek aid of someone strong enough to help her, and inevitably found the Master.
While still very new to the big city, Megan ran afoul of one of the more predatory street gangs that made Central Park their turf. Her thrashing of almost the entire gang set them, and every gang local to the Park, against her. Megan has taken personal interest in ridding the Park of muggers and rapists. Walking as bait through the park in the wee hours night, the Willow Witch savagely beats the perpetrators, leaving them to be found, if they are lucky, the next morning by the police.
Ghost Archer entered her life several years later, actually saving her from Mechassassin, who had been hired by several of the gangs Megan was preying on. The mercenary had hit Megan twice with his wrist blades, nearly killing her. Ghost Archer fired only one shot at Mechassassin, just enough to knock him out of the way, then scooped Megan up and teleported to the Manor's autodoc. Willow Witch woke to the smiling face of a darkly handsome man with black hair and jade green eyes.
The two spent several years together as lovers until the day Archer returned from a patrol to find Megan disappeared. With no word from her and no hint of the reason for her vanishing, Ghost Archer assumed Megan had been taken against her will and spent nearly two years on a solitary quest to find her. He was joined by Lightrune of Strike Force who also happened to be looking for the Willow Witch, the woman he claimed was his wife. Archer did not explain to Lightrune his relationship with Megan but together they at last found her living in a castle on the Rhine with a very wealthy older man, a man the Archer investigated and found to be an extremely powerful mage. Neither Lightrune nor Ghost Archer has approached Willow Witch for an explanation, perhaps none was needed for either of them. They walked away from Megan Pierce and moved on with their lives, both hoping Willow Witch had found whatever it was she was searching for.
Willow Witch's magic is formidable but operates under certain restrictions. First, she must hold and use up physical items such as rocks, water, earth, fire, twigs, ice and the like. Second, she must be able to articulate the Cymri words of her spells so she can never work magic in secret. Third, her spells take time to gather the forces of Nature and respond to her bidding. But within these limitations she can be extremely effective. She is most comfortable with water-oriented magic, rainstorms, hail, flood, mud, etc., and tends to carry about numerous flasks of water as the focus of her power. She can, however, coax magical effects from any natural element.
Megan is quick-witted, unenamored of city life and inclined to take the law into her own hands.
