APPEARANCE
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Dark Brown
Height: 5' 6"

Description:
Kerri is a very attractive young woman of about 25 with long wavy blonde hair and smoldering dark eyes. Where once her clothes were conservative and proper for a police detective, now she wears tight, low-slung leather pants with a lot of buckles over thong panties and a croptop that reveals far more of her breasts then she has ever shown before. She has taken to wearing a heavy cross around her neck suspended from a leather dog collar and has recently added a skull and crossbones tattoo on her left shoulder.
BACKGROUND
That's what she gets for trying to save her worthless good-for-nothing brother. He hadn't even been out of jail 24 hours when she got the call, a desperate call, begging for money. Pissed beyond belief, Kerri checked a car out of the motor pool and without bothering to tell her partner, roared off into the night to save her stupid brother one more time.
She found him hanging from the rafters of the warehouse; his body covered in puncture wounds and obviously drained of every drop of blood. When the figure dropped from the ceiling and crushed her to the ground her last thought was of how warm and wonderful it was to have the beautiful woman cradling her in her arm.

The blast caught the vampire in the back and rolled it thirty feet, slamming it against the corrugated wall of the building. It had been a nasty, burning blast but the vampire came to its feet like a cat and leaped before the man could get off a second shot.
An arc of silver bisected the flying monster that moments ago had been a gorgeous Latina and blood flew, splattering the wall on the right side of the building. Momentum kept the vampire moving but the man with the sword wasn’t there when it crashed to the concrete in a bloody heap. It rolled onto its knees and tried to force itself to its feet but the blade arced down from over head and severed the body just above the hips. The malicious light in the red eyes disappeared as if a light bulb had burned out.
Ash Darke, Warden of the White Council, turned from the body and dropped to his knees beside the young police officer. He touched her throat, feeling for a pulse he never expected to find and was surprised to find it chugging along. Then he saw her swallow, saw the blood on her lips. He dropped back on to his ass and draw the sword up and over his head in a two handed grip. Better she die then and there than have her become one of those monsters.
Blue eyes opened and regarded him calmly. Their eyes met and he froze, the sword hovering at the point of descent.
     “STOP!”
He turned his head at the sound of the voice and the following ratcheting of a shell into a shotgun.
Just inside the door stood one of the biggest men Ash had ever seen and cradled in his hands as if it were a pool stick, was an Atchisson Assault Shotgun aimed right between his eyes.
     “Hello, Dreadlock,” Ash said calmly.
Dreadlock’s scarred black face remained impassive but he raised the shotgun to point at the ceiling.
“Darke,” he growled, his voice coming from somewhere on the other side of the grave. “I’ll take her.”
Ash nodded and climbed to his feet. The sword slid silently into its sheath.
“You really don’t know how happy I am to see you, Dreadlock.”
The man scowled. “Not something I’d expect from a Warden.”
“I guess not, but true none the less...” Ash pulled the grey Warden’s cloak closed around his body. “I looked into her eyes, Dreadlock.   She’s a very good woman. I think she needs you and the Order as much as you need her.”
The huge black man knelt beside the girl and turned her face up so he could see her.
“Pretty little thing,” he mumbled. “Hope she’s tougher then she looks.”
Ash moved over to the body of the vampire and doused it with lighter fluid.
“You got about one minute to get your ass out of here then, this place is going to draw the cops.” The warden said, pulling out a box of old fashion wooden matches.
Dreadlock slung the shotgun over his shoulder and with no visible effort, scooped the girl up and cradled her like a baby in his massive arms. In two steps he was beside Ash.
“You sure ‘bout her?” he rumbled.
The wizard looked up at him feigning surprise. “I was sure of you once upon a time.”
The other nodded and started for the door.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t a little faster, tell her that.” Ash called after them. Dreadlock never looked back but disappear through the door.

Kerri awoke and smelled it . . . blood . . . it was so close she could taste it. She tried to sit up but found herself strapped to a bed. An ugly black man the size of a house sat on a straining wooden chair watching her. Brilliant sunlight streamed through three huge picture windows, the light hurt, literally hurt her skin. It was as if the sun was a liquid fire pouring over her body. She screamed.
The ugly man began to talk in a soft, low voice. “I know it hurts but it gets better. I know you can smell the blood. I am Dreadlock of the Order of St. Giles and you are a vampire . . . or will be, if you give in to that thirst.”
He sat there for hours and talked to her as she screamed and raved and cursed him in words she’d only heard from foulmouthed punks she’d arrested. He told her what had happened and how then he told her there was still hope, if she chose to take it. When the sun had dropped below the horizon, the pain disappeared and she was able to think and reason and ask questions. Dreadlock patiently answered them and by midnight she had calmed.

Kerri pulled the sunglasses off as she stepped up onto the porch of the coral painter Victorian mansion.  For a moment her internal debate fired off a parting shot.  She lifted the door knocker, and let it fall . . .
POWERS/TACTICS
Kerri is a trained cop with a number of years on the street under her belt. At the time of her change she has just made Detective Third and moved into Homicide.
Since joining the Order, she has been training with Dreadlock and her combat skills are improving rapidly. Being with the Order gives her the advantage of military level weapons and combat gear and this gives her a considerable advantage over most Red Court vampires. She and Dreadlock have been working together and through training, have developed into a efficient team.
PERSONALITY/MOTIVATION
From a very early age Kerri was the protector of her younger brother. She was the one that stood up to the bullies that would pick on him and later, she was the one that put up bail for him. No matter how stupid he might be only one thing mattered to her, he was her brother. When she found him dead she didn’t even have time to react before she awoke changed.
Not only her very body had changed, but her soul had changed. Now she lives on for one thing only, revenge . . . revenge on the blood sucking monsters that had killed him and made her want she was now, one of them.
Where once she was careful, now she was rash. Where once she would feel something for the victims she encountered, now she can only feel jealousy and anger. How dare they whine and bemoan their fate. Weren’t they still alive? She was half way undead for God’s sake!
Dreadlock is worried about her, worried she might let her emotions run away with her and push her over the edge of no return but Kerri assures him she would never do that. He waits, prays and watches her.
